How do you start your day? Open your eyes, sit up, put your feet on the floor...yeah it's that simple but, how do you start the day right?
Most people would have morning rituals. Some don't. Some start something new then wane on doing it and eventually quit it. I don't have morning rituals myself until I came across some good reading and tried applying a mix match of steps to waking up refreshed, cleansed and clear in thought. Let me share my new morning ritual...
CLEANSE YOUR MIND
Did you ever wake up confused from a dream or feeling overloaded with information http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.giffrom the previous day's flurry of activities? You feel tired just doing a recall of what you just did last night or you already get weighed down by stress just thinking about what you will be doing in the day ahead. STOP!!!!! Don't do any of those the moment you open our eyes. Instead, do this simple breathing exercise and think of nothing....just concentrate on the breathing. This exercise is just one part of what some people from Hawaii like Dr. Ihaleakala S. Hew Len would practice and teach which is the "Ho'oponopono" (for further readings check Ancient "Huna" Practices and Ho'oponopono Insights) It just takes three minutes to do this very simple technique. You have to be sitting up comfortably or on a yoga pose when you do this, just like meditation but you're not going to meditating on any mantra, just do breathing. It's just four steps that you have to repeat nine times to complete: Step 1 > Inhale deeply through your nose. Step 2 > Hold for seven counts. Step 3 > Exhale through your mouth. Step 4 > Hold the exhale for seven counts. That's the four step cycle - do this nine times and that's a good way to also cleanse your body of toxins. It will also oxygenate your brain. While your doing that concentrate in your mind a white space or white light...completely blank. When your mind is clear for just three minutes as you breathe new inspiration comes in. CLEAR MIND = NEW INSPIRATION. You'll be like a computer who just had a virus cleaning schedule.
CLEANSE YOUR HEART
This second ritual can also (I'd say SHOULD, really) be done before crashing in your bed. Sometimes we sleep with a negative thought about someone or something. Either we had a fight with a loved one, or with someone at work. You may have had a bad day at work or you are worrying about something and you wake up still thinking about it. The first ritual somehow eases up your mind about it, leaving it fresh for a new start but most of the time it stays in the heart and you feel the heaviness there. Cleanse your heart by saying these 4 phrases. All you need is a glass of water...OK, you're not gonna drink it. Remember that "water" is the universal solution and even our heartaches can be partially solved in this ritual. Do this by yourself so no one would say you've gone nuts. Holding the glass of water in your hand...think of what has been worrying you or what negative thoughts you have of this person, thing or situation...rate it from 1-10, 10 being the highest. Rate how strong your negative feelings are about it. Then say these thoughts to the glass of water...pour out your thoughts about it, curse, shout (SILENTLY, okay!) whatever you want to say, just say it to the glass of water (SILENTLY, please! or you'd wake up whoever) Now, rate it again if you still feel the same way...if yes then repeat your rantings, until the rating goes down to zero, don't worry it will go down to zero and it will make you feel better. If you're done don't just pour that glass of water just anywhere without cleansing the water, too! Yes, you need to cleanse the water because it contains all the negative energy you poured into it. Every thought and every word we say is energy and water is one good conductor of energy so, if you don't cleanse it, it will pass on that negative energy to anything that it touches. Cleanse the water by saying: I'm sorry, please forgive me, I love you, thank you! Now you can pour the water out.
CLEANSE YOUR BODY
This is the easiest part of the ritual, I don't recommend that you do it first because of the effect on the body. No, it's not taking a bath. We all know that a bath cleanses you externally. Internally, all you have to do is drink a tall glass of water. What it does is to make sure you flush all the garbage you ate the previous day. Yes it will make you poop (LOL!) I realized that most of us don't drink water as soon as we get up. Some even turn on their TV or computers first and drink something only after eating or when they get really thirsty. Water should be the first thing you should orally take. I suggest room temperature or warm, not cold! Guaranteed, regular bowel movement.
These three rituals should be done in the same order they are presented. It shouldn't be that hard. I tell you, your outlook will change for for the rest of your life :)
